Hi I'm Quincey

I'm a only son with 5 sisters. I love to work on cars and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 6 and I am the 4th child. I have 5 sisters and no brothers and lets just say life is interesting with just sisters. My interests are solely in vehicles and computers. I became interested in cars when I took Automotive in High School, which led me to attend a Technical school and took a Diesel program during my Junior and Senior year. I've worked on cars as a job since I graduated, being a employee for BMI machinery for about 6 months then working for my Dad who also is a Mechanic. My interest in Computers came when i was in 7th grade and most of my learning was on my own of seeing what i could do on computers. I remember getting in so much trouble with my parents, because I would ruin something on their computer as I was experimenting on it. So that led me to buying my first used laptop where I was free to do my experiments on it. My hobbies would be paint-balling, video gaming, and soon to be racing.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Was baptized when I was 8 years of age and knew that following Christ was important. But it wasn't until I was about 14 or 15 when I really started to think about religion, what it meant to me and why I was Mormon. I was at a critical point in my life, I saw two roads that I could take. The first was to go and do whatever I wanted, letting go of God, and the expectations of my parents. Or I could take the other which was to follow my religion and counsel of parents which at that time was not appetizing at all. I was sitting there on my bed when I was thinking about that, and something told me to read the Book of Mormon. At that time, my book was dusty, I hadn't read it in months maybe some years on my own. But for whatever reason I decided to read a couple of pages and so I flipped open to a page and started to read. I never saw what came next. I felt something different, so powerful that I was emotional, I started to cry. I felt Gods love for me, its hard for me to describe. But I could not deny at that moment and still cant that God was real and he loved me. I will never forget that experience. That is why I am Mormon, because I know that God loves and cares about me.

How I live my faith

I served as a Sunday school teacher for the 12-13 year olds for about half a year. Which I simply teach about Christ, and his teachings to 12-13 year olds. Then I am currently on a full time Mission, which is a 2 year service where I have the privilege of seeking and teaching others about Christ. I am currently serving in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania mission.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Mormons are not required to serve a mission but is highly recommended. It may seem that all are required to serve but is always voluntary. I came on my mission voluntary because I knew that God needed me to and of my testimony of the gospel. When you know that this church is true you want to go and tell others about it. Also another mistake people say is that we get paid to go and serve a mission. on serving a mission. This is not true. We have to pay for ourselves to go and serve, crazy I know but like i said before it is your testimony of the gospel that gives your desire to go and is well worth it. We dont pick and choose where were going, but the church tells us where we are needed to go. Show more Show less
