Hi I'm Jared Rix

In my life I've lived in 3 seperate countries, I've found in each the society changes but the LDS Church stays the same.

About Me

I was born in South Africa into the church in an area where my grandfather had started a few branches. When i was a young boy my parents moved us to New Zealand, where we gained citizenship and friends within the church. We now live in Australia where we have spent most of our lives. We have gained many friends here in and out of the church. My friends here had introducd me to a lot of things I'd never done before such as diving, four wheel driving and many other great outdoor activities. At the moment I am working as an assistant property manager and have just recently received my call to serve in the England, London Mission. I am planning to go to university when I return from my mission and study Psychology, a subject that interests me a great deal. I enjoy reading and writing my own stories hopefully one day I hope to have a novel published. I enjoy helping others, it always brings me great joy, whether they ask for it or not it always makes both those who I help and myself feel good.

Why I am a Mormon

When i was young i asked my Mother for one reason that she believed in the church, she told me the story of how when she was pregnant with me there were some major complications and that the doctors said that if she went ahead with the pregnancy either she or I or bothwould die and she would not be able to have any more children after, so they planned a date for an operation to save her in which she still would not have any more kids after. On the day of the operation my Mother got a priesthood blessing from my Father and Grandfather that every thing would be alright. When she got to the hospital the doctor said he wanted to check one last time on what was happening. When he cheked he found that there was absolutely nothing wrong and that both Mother and child would be fine. I know that the priesthood blessing is what saved me and my mother before I was even born. From this I know that the Priesthood Power is a power and gift from God that is here to help us and guide us and growing up as a Mormon, I have found through the things we are taught that if the Priesthood is true, than so are all the stories in the Scriptures and Church History relating to that and just having connected the dots between this I know for a Fact that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the God's true church here on the Earth. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by fulfilling my callings to the best of my ability and now I have been called to Serve a fulltime mission in the England London Mission. I am really grateful for the opportunity and si am looking forward to serving the Lord and bringing others into His Gospel. Until I leave for my mission I will continue serving in my current calling as the Executive Secretary to the Bishop of my ward. I enjoy talking to others about what I believe in and answering questions that they have about what we believe in. I do my best to follow the teachings of the church and to be an example and a representitive of Christ in all that I do.
