Hi I'm Logan

I play frisbee, study civil engineering, and am a cancer survivor. I am a Mormon

About Me

I was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma cancer at the age of 12. I went through 112 weeks of chemo-therapy and 10 days of radiation treatment. I was mortally ill for almost a year losing 24% of my body weight and having complete atrophy in all muscles in my body. This confined me to a wheel chair for several months, and prohibited me from going to school. During this experience and overcoming my adversities has given me new meaning and perspective on life. I know why I am here on this earth. I will continue to be tried and tested so that I can learn and grow and increase in my ability to overcome future adversities. My goal is to live my life in accordance to the laws of God and never falter, so that i can one day receive eternal life with him and my family. I love my family, I love the outdoors, I love to work with my hands, and I love to learn about the earth and all earth related systems. I study civil engineering and plan on graduating in December of 2013

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Christ has restored his original church back on the earth today. He has called and continues to call prophets today that receive inspiration for His restored church as well as all people on the earth. By following the teachings of Christ through his words that come from his ancient and current prophets, I can know and do the things necessary to live my life with joy and be able to overcome my trials and progress towards more understanding, more joy and peace in my life here on this earth. Then, if I can be faithful until the end, I too can become like my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ and receive an eternally happy life living like God does. My purpose is to find joy in the journey as I progress on his path to get there.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Ward Mission Leader in my local congregation (ward). This involves coordination efforts to serve and aid others in our area to learn or maintain the beliefs in God and Jesus Christ that I know to be true and that aid me in overcoming my adversities and progressing. Often time, I specifically work with young adults who are struggling with understanding certain principles about the truth of Christ's gospel. I also work with those who are not part of our faith, in answering questions about our faith and helping them to gain the perspective that I have and know to be true. This involves teaching and understanding the scriptures. I also organize small group bible studies and discussions to help all interested to gain more perspective, understanding and knowledge of the word of God.
