Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm an enthusiastic, marathon running, mommy of 3. I'm married to my college sweetheart and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Southern California. I love the beach and was lucky enough to run on the cross country team for Brigham Young University --Hawaii!!! I met my husband on the shores of Hukilau beach. We were married in the Oakland, CA temple and now have 3 fun-loving children. We have been in graduate school our entire marriage earning a total of 4 degrees! We joke that he is the "eternal student." My husband is a soon to be attorney, graduating from Law School in a year. I earned my degree in education and use the knowledge every day at home and enjoy teaching my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in a home where I was taught the teachings of Jesus Christ. I knew that our Heavenly Father has a plan for me and there is a purpose in life. I believed what my parents and teachers taught me at church and trusted in their teachings. But when I was a teenager, believing in Jesus Christ was not enough for me. I wanted to have faith to follow Him. But I didn’t know how to do that. I remember reading in Alma 32, on faith. Alma teaches about an experiment and challenges us to compare the word unto a seed; plant it, nurture it and the seed will not only grow tall and bear fruits but the roots will also grow and support the tree. After reading those verses it hit me, you can’t drive a car without pushing the gas! Belief is passive, merely acceptance that something is true. Faith is active. It gives us confidence and conviction and moves us to action. I needed to do more than believe, I needed to act. Instead of reading my scriptures out of duty, I stared to study my scriptures and writing insights in my journal. I noticed that when I “pushed the peddle of faith” and acted upon my beliefs with faith, the Spirit touched my heart and mind. That’s when I knew that Christ is the Savoir and the gospel is true. Since that day, I nurtured my faith by reading my scriptures, saying my prayers, going to church, serving others . . . My faith has grown and know that I am encircled with love from my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time! I wake up every morning with gratitude in my heart and I try share the "good news" with anyone I come across because I am grateful that missionaries taught my parents the gospel of Jesus Christ. Having the gospel in my life has brought me happiness and peace, and I hope that I can be a positive influence with those whom I associate with. At church, I also serve as the secretary of the children's organization. I get to love and help children from the ages of 18 months to 12 years old learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the sweet testimonies, pureness and sensitivity of children. My favorite part of Sunday is the singing time because of the spirit that I feel through the children's voices. They are filled with the love of God.
