Hi I'm Gentry Taylor White

I am a typical teenage girl. I'm an avid reader and writer, a sister and a daughter. Oh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For me, I feel I am complicated to describe. Sometimes, I struggle with self-worth and self esteem. I have struggled with depression, anxiety, all of that stuff. I struggle with self importance, and sometimes I feel as if I want to create something important, but at the moment I don't know how. But, I know that I can do that with God in my life. If I ever question my ability to do anything, like play softball or read Jane Eyre ;) then I know I can turn to our Heavenly Father. I was reading my scriptures last night and I came across Matt 19:30 which reads, "But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first." This taught me to believe, that even if you feel like you are last, which I sometimes do, that God thinks of you as a 'first.'

Why I am a Mormon

There have been so many struggles in my life, some I can hardly face without the help of my Savior and my God. I was born into this religion and it used to mean nothing to me, since it seems like everyone here has the same standards and same beliefs. But now I find that my spirit and my faith are unique to me. With every challenge I go through, I know that I can be strengthened from it, even if at the moment I don't feel like it. When it gets so hard to stand, I know that I can kneel and pray to my Father in Heaven and just tell him about my trouble. I think that has just strengthened my testimony along with the fact that we have so much information available to us in the technological time period. The scriptures have blessed my life in so many different countless ways. And sometimes I feel that I am not important, but in this gospel, I know that I can be. For those of you who may read this and may not be a member of our faith, were not so different, you and I. We may have struggles that may be alike. Just because I am a Mormon doesn't mean that I can't feel pain, or I can't suffer from an addiction. I think that the fact that I am a Mormon is so I can deal with those things and have something that I believe whole-heartily in. I believe in my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ, and I love this Gospel!

How I live my faith

I am a 2nd counselor in my Mia Maids Presidency, but the President was just released so that's probably going to change. I am active in the church and go every Sunday! I participate in my weekly mutual, we have so much fun in my ward!

How does the Church finance its operations?

Gentry Taylor White
We pay tithing. Tithing is only 10% of your income. So say you had 10 dollars. 10% of 10 dollars is 1 dollar right? So whatever you make, you try to pay your tithing, a full 10%. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Gentry Taylor White
We believe that the purpose of life was the come here to be tested. We came here to receive a physical body, exercise our agency and form family and spouse relationships that can be eternal. Show more Show less
