Hi I'm Stephanie Lillian Blommaert

I love the Arts with a passion, I'm a proud Canadian, I love life, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Like Nephi, I am happy to say I was born of goodly parents, I am the oldest & have a brother and a sister. I love my family dearly, they mean absolutely everything to me. To think that I can be with them for time & all eternity is down-right brilliant! I have a great love for life - I especially find joy in the ordinary miracles of life we sometimes take for granted. I am quite optimistic, I believe life is to be enjoyed not just endured. I love to have a grand ole time, I believe laughing is the ultimate medicine to anything, Disney, musicals & movies are my addictions! I am extremely artsy-fartsy, whether it's singing, acting, dancing, writing, the whole sha-bang is an ut-most joy to me. There's something about it all that just touches my heart & soul. With that, it has helped me to better appriciate and understand the many ways our Heavenly Father can bear testimony to each of us, through such a thing as music, that brings us altogether, no matter who we are or where we're from. I also feel so overly blessed to have some of THE best friends. They are freakin fantastic & I love each of them more than they'll ever comprehend. In my day to day life, I strive to see the bright or better side of others as our Heavenly Father might see them, as being children of God with great worth & potential. My overall motto in life is: Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass - it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Better question, why not? When you've come to really know that something so beautiful, simple yet strengthening, so life-fulfilling, that brings such joy and meaning in your life is real and true, wouldn't you strive to do all you can to live up to that which you believe and hold dear, that being this Gospel? I know I strive to daily. It's never easy mind you, but nothing truly worth one's while ever does come about easily. I also know that I am never alone. That's one of the beauties of the Gospel. I have my dear, beloved family, my fantastic friends, my leaders and teachers, Bishoprics past and present, Stake Presidencies past and present, there are members of the Church all around the world, members of the Seventy, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, First Presidency, and of course, there is the Godhead who never, ever leaves us wanting. In realizing just how strong and united we are as members of the Church, as brothers and sisters, it gives me such strength of heart and purpose to go forth and stand for truth and righteousness each day of my life. It truly is a blessing. I also live my faith because this Gospel is the Gospel of Happiness and Truth. I have been blessed time and time again in so many ways and forms, but also with that I have come to know through personal experience, as stated by Joseph B. Wirthlin, "living the gospel doesn't mean the storms of life shall pass, but that we will be better prepared to face them with serenity and peace". With gaining a stronger testimony and day by day striving to make and shape myself into the person the Lord would have me be, and seeing the many miracles and blessings the Lord has brought to pass, I have come to know the truth of the Gospel for myself, and as stated by Joseph Smith: I know it, I know that God knows it, and I cannot and will not deny it!

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the Church all my life, but I would be lying if I said it's been an easy ride or I've always been sure of who I was as a Daughter of God & that this Gospel is true. I know to be truly converted, you have to have a sincere desire for & seek out the truth for yourself, whether you're an investigator or life-long member. I have come to know the truth, joy, & love of my Father in Heaven, of His Beloved, Begotten Son Jesus Christ, through the companionship of the Holy Ghost, reading & studying the scriptures, serving those around me, being willing to listen with not just my ears but with an open heart by praying sincerely and then pondering, & not just being a Sunday Mormon but constantly applying and striving to truly live what I know, always! Of course I am a human being like anyone else who is prone to make mistakes, but with that comes the great power and blessing of the Atonement, which was brought about through our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ. He walked the long, lonely road so that we didn't have to. So that no matter what sins we've committed, what sorrows, trials or temptations we may face, we have Christ to turn to in meekness & openness of heart, to seek and gain forgiveness, be understood, comforted & guided. I know He lives, that the tomb is empty and that He is the way, the truth, and the source of all light! I had the incredible blessed opportunity to serve as a missionary in the great Canada Calgary Mission for 18 months. That time was so sacred to me, & truly was a time for me to not only invite others to come unto Christ, but ultimately, myself. My mission was like a personal walk with Christ that was truly amazing and humbling. I experienced such joy that literally filled my soul as I took part in having front row seats in seeing others choose to change & join on that path of enduring faithfully to the end back home. For I know in following Him, we will never fail, but will always find great reason to rejoice.
