Hi I'm Marie Yvonne

I grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, in 1943. I am a Latter Day Saint (LDS).

About Me

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ in 1972. I was a scouter for a long time but I am not one right now. I enjoyed going on the camping trips with the cubs, scouts and beavers. I am retired and I have been busy singing at a Nursing Home and visiting the elderly. I have 8 sisters with the same first name and 3 brothers with the same first name. I had 11 sisters, one died when she was 14 and another died in 2006. I had a brother die in 2002 that leaves 2 now. I am a mother with one son.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church in 1972 when I discovered that it was family oriented. I had a young son then and I wanted him to have a worthwhile life with religion. I did not realize that it would help me overcome many problems I had dealing with my brothers and sisters. They sent me on leadership courses and helped me understand why I was here on this earth. I wanted to be with a people who were honest and trustworthy.

How I live my faith

I conduct the music for our Ward on Sundays during Sacrament Service. I am also the Primary Secretary. I read my scriptures every morning and say prayers and ask for blessing on my food before I eat it.
