Hi I'm Taylor

I mostly grew up in Utah. I'm preparing to serve a mission, and I've been Mormon all my life.

About Me

In my family, we have always loved camping. I grew up with horses and four-wheelers and love the outdoors. I love the mountains of Utah and I love being able to see them every day. I like to play sports but mostly I love to play basketball. Also, of course, I like playing video games when my friends get together. Music is a great motivator for me and it helps me when I'm feeling down.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Mormon family so it has always been a part of my life, but now I am Mormon for myself. I know the church is true and love the blessings it brings. More than anything, I love the Mormon youth. I can sense their spirit and enthusiasm and I love their faith. They're young, but they're strong in the gospel and are great examples to the world.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the gospel and have always lived within it. In high school I attended four years of seminary. It was one of my favorite classes because it gave me the opportunity to escape from the world. It was fun, but insightful and educational. Attending church every week is beneficial as well in much the same way. It's nice to get the spiritual recharge every week. Currently, my focus is to serve an LDS mission and I have been preparing for it.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is an expression of our spiritual experience. We share our testimony to both help others grow and ourselves. When we share our testimony, someone learns from it and is strengthened by it. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

There are many, countless, spirits on the other side of the veil, and most of these spirits never had the opportunity to join the gospel while they were alive. Many key ordinances, such as baptism, can only be performed with a body. Since these spirits have been separated from their body they can't accomplish these ordinances on their own. They need us to step in for them, and represent them with our bodies. Then, if they choose to follow the gospel, they have these ordinances performed for them already. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

By practicing His teachings. The only way we can learn is through experience so the only way to increase faith is by being faithful and by following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We need a Savior because none of us are perfect. We are all going to make mistakes and commit some sort of sin. Since Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the only being to ever stand without sin, he is the only one who can save us. The purpose of the Atonement is so Jesus can take our sins and cleanse us. He is the only one without debt so he is the only one who can pay. We need to repent and come to Christ, because he is the only one who can save us. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, we believe in Jesus Christ. He is the center of our religion and only through Him can we return to our Father in Heaven. We follow His teachings and strive to become like Him. Show more Show less
