Hi I'm Lolane

I was born and still live in Pocatello, Idaho. I am a mother, wife and friend. I am a Mormon...

About Me

I was married 15 years before and had two wonderful children, a boy and a girl. This marriage ended up in a divorce. Then I married a wonderful man with three children. We ended up having one between us, making us a blended family. We have 23 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and two more Great's on the way. I have many hobbies some of which are; hiking, walking, fishing, traveling and scrapbooking. I have served two missions, one in the Washington DC temple with my husband for 18 months and one service mission at the LDS Employment Center for one year. Five of our grandson's have served missions in; The Dominican Republic, Peroia Illinois, Saint Louis Missouri, Riverside, California and Honduras. I play the piano and organ and have a great love for MUSIC. My mother taught me SERVICE is one of the greatest things we can share with others. I try to be a good example to everyone around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family. My mother always saw to it that I went to church and had good friends. Through the years my testimony has grown. I love going to church and feeling the spirit. The messages help me through the week and helps me keep on the right path. I belong to a church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, that has a living prophet to help guide and council us. Our church is patterned after the church that Jesus Christ organized while he was upon the earth, with a prophet and 12 Apostles. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that we have modern day revelation. This is a pattern for us to live by.

How I live my faith

At the present time I am the ward organist for my church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. I love to visit and teach the sisters in our ward. I attend church every week and partake of the Sacrament to renew my covenants made at my baptism. I love the Temple and attend when possible. Being a good neighbor and friend is important to me. I have served as Young Women's president and love to work with the youth. I think unconditional love is very important and that concept is one I feel we all should try to live.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Mormons are not required to serve a mission. When a young man reaches the age of 19, he has the opportunity to serve a two year mission. Many retired senior, men, women and married couples serve missions. Missionaries serve from 18 months to 2 years. Missions are voluntary and missionaries are not paid for their service. They serve wherever the Church calls them. While serving full-time, missionaries are official representatives of the Church... Show more Show less
