Hi I'm Annii

I'm a southern woman with an immigrant father. I'm a single student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love hiking and playing my ukulele when I can. I like to read. I love working especially when I know I'm making a difference. I like little children because they are innocent and honest. I'm in school to become a teacher. I speak Spanish and Italian in addition to English. I am always trying to pick up simple words and phrases in new languages.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a little girl, my family didn't attend church. My mom was a member, but had fallen out of the way. My dad is Catholic - but really in name only. Growing up, We didn't talk about God or the bible in my home, but one day the missionaries knocked on the door - and they kept on coming. My mother says that when I was 8 1/2, I just plain told her that we needed to start going to church and I needed to get baptized. I only remember reading the Book of Mormon and realizing it was true. That's all I needed. As I have gotten older and experienced more of life, I have found that living the gospel - keeping the Lord's commandments and trying to do His will - brings more happiness than anything else. I have stayed in the LDS church because I have tasted the sweet fruit of redemption. I have repented and felt the Lord's loving embrace. I know what it means to "become a new creature in Christ," because I have done it. I challenge you to do the same. Acknowledge your faults and work to overcome them. As you grow closer to the Lord, He will support you and show you the way through your difficulties. Change takes time and effort, but I promise you it is worth all the pain.

How I live my faith

I have taught and led church events and groups in the past, but right now I'm doing my best to soak up the wisdom of the people around me. Every month I go with my mom to make sure some of the local women and their families are doing alright. It is important to make sure people know you love them. I'm also involved in a growing but very new singles group in church. I go to a bible study class with them every week, I meet with them on Sunday, and sometimes I attend other fun events that they put on to help us get acquainted and support each other.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Absolutely not. I don't worship Joseph Smith any more than I worship Paul, Peter, or Moses. Joseph Smith was a prophet. I am glad that he was here, and I respect the important position he played in bringing the priesthood as well as the complete gospel back to the earth. Show more Show less
