Hi I'm Joel Owen

I'm from England. I love Memphis! I'm a missionary in Arkansas Little Rock Mission... and I'm a Mormon?

About Me

Hi. I am currently serving a mission in the Arkansas Little Rock mission and am loving it. Prior to that I was attending BYU but with little or no direction with what I was doing with my life. I enjoy playing video games and listening to music, well anything to do with music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church is how I became a Mormon. The reason why am still a Mormon is because this is the only place I have found that answers so many questions I have had about the purpose to life and what truly makes me happy. During my teenage years I was not living gospel and through that it gave me the opportunity to really try and come to grips to why religion is important to people. It led me to study multiple religions but what I would learn was never sufficient for my needs. Through the support of my family I was able to make steps toward trying to gain a testimony of the church. It really wasn't until I became a missionary that I had gained a testimony and had become converted. I am so grateful to be here and to serve others, I am just grateful that I am a member of this church because it has been the only steady anchor in my family's life in an increasingly different world.

How I live my faith

Well as a missionary all you do all day is talk to people about the church and try and be a good example. One way I try to live my faith is to constantly bring my focus on the atonement and how I can change through it. Through repentance I can become the person I need to be to live my faith as Jesus Christ would have me do.
