Hi I'm Peter

I'm a son, a missionary , and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hey there I'm Peter. I'm currently live in a small town in northern California. I'm have two brothers and I'm the middle child. I aspire to be a civil engineer one day after I eventually graduate college. I served a mission in North Carolina and I loved it. However, 18 months into it I was diagnosed with testicular cancer, so the last 6 months have been postponed. I'm now living life and loving to be a Mormon, preparing to return to my mission, and kicking cancers trash!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church so I was taught the doctrines at a young age. However, that isn't why I am a Mormon. I had to gain a testimony for myself whether or not the church was true. I received an answer that Joseph Smith is a prophet and he really did see our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I gained that testimony by reading the Book of Mormon and sincerely asking my Heavenly Father if it was true. I received that answer and I know that God has lead me along the correct path.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints is a lot more than just going to church on Sunday. It is a battle everyday, or you might say every moment for the welfare of your soul. You have to constantly check your standing before God and how well you are keeping his commandments. It may seem hard or extreme to some, but just look at the example that our savior Jesus Christ set. He was perfect so he was able to atone and die for our sins not so we didn't have to be perfect but so we could strive to be perfect. I know that when I strive to do my best and be like Christ, and recognizing when I fail that I can repent and change, I am most fully living my faith.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is knowledge to a spiritual question such as whether or not the Book of Mormon is scripture. The only way to know whether that is true or not is to ask our Heavenly Father in prayer and the Holy Ghost will confirm that truth to us. Show more Show less
