Hi I'm Jake Bishop

I have lived in good ole' Fruita, Colorado my whole life. I absolutely love sports. I'm a mormon.

About Me

My name is Jake and I absolutely love sports. I love playing and watching all kinds of sports. Especially basketball. I love the game of basketball. I also love to do outdoor activites such as hiking, biking, camping, and backpaking. I just love being in the outdoors especially up in the mountains. I love thrilling activities! I've been sky diving and I absolutely loved it. I just love that danger factor. I have three younger brothers and we do a lot together. Our family is really close and we love to spend time togther. I also love to hang out with friends, we love to play sports together and do all types of activities. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Church all my life and I've chosen to continue with this path because it is the true restored church that Jesus Christ once built upon this earth. And it is a chruch that shares a message of hope on how we can be together with our families forever and how we can have true happiness here on earth. I know that this chruch is true and that it is led by a prophet today in President Thomas S. Monson. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints means everything to me, it is truly Christ's church, and I know that to be true. I also know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. It is added scripture comparible to the Bible to help us in our every lives and gives us guidance when we need it. And that the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith and he was a true prophet that saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in a sacred grove of trees. And I know that Jesus is the Christ and he made that atoning sacrafice so we can return to our loving Father in Heaven once again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving everyone and finding oppurtunities to serve people. Service brings us true happiness in our lives and it creates a loving atmosphere in relationships with others. I love to give service to others. And I love to share this gospel with others, because the message we share brings happiness and hope to everyone's lives.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Jake Bishop
I find happiness in paying my tithing. We pay our tithing because it helps build the Lord's Kingdom and it shows our faith in Christ when we do so. When we show our faith in Christ by paying our tithing, we will truly be blessed for it. In Malachi 3:8-10 it says: the Lord will open the windows of heaven and pour down blessings that there will not be room enough to recieve them. I know that we are truly blessed when we pay our tithing and there are always those times when we feel that we won't make it financially if we pay tithing. But I once heard, are you going to rely on money to get you out of a financial bump, or are you going to rely and put your faith in the Lord to help you with his many blessings that he has in store for you.
