Hi I'm Deidre Johnson

I'm a New Zealand born Samoan, I am a Graphic Designer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from New Zealand and currently am a full-time graphic designer. I served as a full time sister missionary in the Idaho Pocatello Mission from 2007-2009, Idaho is another home for me. I truly enjoy the simple things in life. I have a small family of three, my husband and I and our dog Bradley.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents who love the Lord who taught and raised me in the teachings of the Saviour. From a young age my parents allowed me to make my own decisions, most often than not, I stuck to the teachings I knew. Of course there came a time where I had to know for myself if the Church really was the church of Jesus Christ, I was 18years old. I was scared because I questioned...but I still needed to know and I knew I had a loving Father in Heaven to find out from. My answer didn't come in a big boom, or right away, but it came as I continued to put gospel principles into practice...over time. I was happy in the things that I knew and lived and I felt peace and love for anyone and everything. That was enough for me to know that it is His. In 2007 I served as a full-time missionary in the Idaho Pocatello Mission, wonderful things happened and that time spent in the service of others for Christ's sake, is where I found my life. My testimony went from good, to best...but it still requires work. Without any doubt, I know God lives. He is our Father, He really hears and answers prayers. He loves me and you. I know Jesus is the Christ, our Saviour. The Book of Mormon is in fact, another Testament of Jesus Christ and contains the fullness of the Gospel. Joseph Smith was indeed the prophet of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it. God said it, I believe it and that settles it.

How I live my faith

I put together our ward monthly newsletter which is an eight page treat filled with updates, reports and fun facts. I am also a Relief Society teacher. I am not perfect in the simple essential acts of putting gospel principles into action each day but I am always making an effort to do so and always follow little promptings I get when I forget to. I work hard and keep my word and also look for opportunities to serve. I also try smile to a stranger every day instead of putting my head down and walking passed.
