Hi I'm Ellen

I have lived allover the U.S. I am an Environmental Studies major, and love indie folk music. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest in my family of older brothers that are all married. I am extremely close with my parents, and have amazing best friends. I love music, movies, and learning new things. I especially love learning about nutrition, fitness, health, food science, environmental topics, etc. I go to a University and really love to learn. I also love to run and exercise. I love animals, and doing fun and crazy things with my friends. I love to laugh, and find joy in being with positive people in life. I am a person who loves words and writing, and seems to express myself deeply with my close friends or mom and dad. I love the outdoors, but not so much camping, because I love to be totally clean when I sleep. I have a passion for languages and for cooking and learning about good food, and watching endless food shows. I love watching movies that help me think about the important things in life and I care about people and want the world to progress polititcally, environmentally, and so on...rather than deteriorate. I am a very clean, and laid back person at the same time, and I love to try and help people get through their problems and make them happy, as I enjoy listening to others, and enjoy talking a lot to those close to me as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I feel this is the right and true thing for me, and for all, if that could be possible at this time. I grew up in the church, as my family was Mormon before I was born, but my parents were converts in the church. Both of their familes were taught by missionaries and felt their teachings to be true. They desired this for themselves, and felt blessed by it. My grandmother was a huge example to me as she was a pioneer in South America, spreading the gospel, and allowing the LDS religious to spread further. All this said, I feel the church is true for myself, despite being born with it in my household. I studied and enjoyed church meetings since I was young, and have always felt a comfort in this church, and a feeling that without it, I would be lost and a very different person, because this church involves your life in many aspects. I feel it is right and a blessing that the church of Jesus Christ of LDS truly changes lives and is a lifestyle change as well. I have felt the spirit, increasingly more so as I have gotten older, and know that this church is true through reading scriptures, and hearing the testimonies, and the teachings of the prophets, and teachers. I love it and know it to be true.

How I live my faith

I love my ward at church. I love to go to church, and to feel the Sprit. I try to pray and read the scriptures always, and to listen to the Spirit guide me. When I can, I try to serve others, but sacrificing my time for others needs, whether that may be a stranger, or a family member even- which I feel I help my family a lot, because I want to serve them and I love them. I have been in several callings in my church, most recently being the mission council- which involved talking about those less active in our ward, and making visits to them to get to know them better, and invite them to church and activities. I also go to many church activities- as many as I can, and by doing so I feel so blessed in my life, and feel continuously uplifted.
