Hi I'm Abby

I grew up in New Jersey and Utah. I'm 18 and attending Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I played Lacrosse in High school and I love snowboarding. I am currently going to college to pursue a career in Graphic Design for the main purpose of my love for art. I grew up with a severe speech disability and because of that I was very shy. Instead of being social, I would color and draw. I grew out of my speech disability, but never out of my love for art.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always grown up with an LDS background. I didn't known anything different. But just because I was born into a family that was actively mormon, doesn't mean I was born with a testimony. I've had many trials, and it has taken me a while to gain my testimony. And it still isn't perfect, but it is growing and developing everyday. Many of my siblings have chosen a different path away from the church, and watching their example has influenced my own decisions. When I compared their happiness with others who are committed to this gospel, I saw a huge difference. I'm not saying my siblings aren't happy. But I know for a fact, from what I've seen and with my own experiences that this gospel is what brings you true happiness. There is short term happiness, and then there is eternal term happiness. Nothing in the world could bring you true eternal happiness like this gospel does. The fact that I know my Heavenly Father is always there and listens to my prayers makes me feel comforted in so many ways. I know I will never be alone, especially in a time of need. All of the "restrictions" set are what gives us true freedom against any addictions or harm. I could try and explain everything, because there is a reason for it all. But all that needs to be said is, this church is true. I know with all my heart and mind that this church is true. The key to true eternal happiness is this gospel.

How I live my faith

At this moment I am involved with a newly formed young singles adult ward at my college. The fact that these kids who are finally moved out of their home, have the freedom to do what ever they want, and still attend church every sunday has amazed me. Not many kids that age would have such a commitment.
