Hi I'm Kacen

From the heat of the California Fresno Mission: I'm a missionary, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Fresno, California speaking Spanish. The work is amazing and the ability to learn and grown in the Spirit and become closer to Christ and also bring other people to Him, is the greatest thing I have ever experienced. Before the mission, I was a student at BYU and for the most part enjoy the large school environment that is easy to get lost in. I consider Utah my home, and other than a few choice vacations and a mission to California, I haven't left that environment much. Though I do look forward to traveling the world with a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

In simple words, it is truth. Though it is what we are known by that truth doesn't come from the name "Mormon", but from the doctrine of faith, repentance, baptism by immersion with priesthood authority, receiving the Holy Spirit, and the faithful pursuit of becoming like Christ throughout life. I am a Mormon because this path in life is about becoming better; better until perfection through Jesus Christ which gives us great hope in that which we could never reach alone. In the end God does live. I am not much of a servant but He is calling me. I want to answer Him before I return home.

How I live my faith

Serving a mission is definitely a good way to live the faith but over the two years I have learned that the greatest kind of service emanates more from who you are than what you do. If you are becoming a Christlike person through the Atonement, then that spirit of being focused on the Kingdom of God will flow from you in all of the things that you do. Truthfully this is where the greatest senses of peace and satisfaction come from; as you serve others and develop the attributes of the Redeemer, that process clears away the busy voices in your mind and clutter in your heart and it makes room for the presence of God in there. And little by little you get a taste of what it is like to be in the presence of God and you know you would be comfortable there. That is the beauty of repentance. In this process of spiritual becoming I have found the most comfort and satisfaction than with anything else I have ever done.
