Hi I'm Josh Vrska

Was born in Indiana, raised in Texas. I love sports but baseball is my favorite. I'm the youngest of 8 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of 8 children, 7 boys and 1 girl. My parents are converts, my dad was a Catholic, and my mother was a Lutheran. I've been playing baseball for 15 years, and other sports mixed in with that. My favorite food is fettacine alfredo with chicken and shrimp. I do love Mexican food though. I'm currently serving a mission in Merida, Mexico. I moved from a big school to a small school, when I moved from Indiana to Texas. Moving was hard at first, but as I realized it was better for me, I started to enjoy it and I'm glad I moved to Texas.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings me a happiness that I have trouble finding in all places. When I'm at church I know that what I'm doing is the right thing. I'm able to make better choices in my life because of the instruction that I receive, that gives me freedom to make decisions that will make me a better person. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior, and that through him I am never alone and that I can find true happiness. I know that we having a living Prophet to help lead and guide me through my life, and to help me with any tough decisions that I have, by following the guidance provided. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet, and through the Book of Mormon, I can find answers to whatever questions that I may have through study and prayer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example, but also following those who set a great example for myself. There are 5 missionaries from my age group that will be serving by December, including myself. I was 1 of 2 LDS members on my high school baseball team, and was able to help set an example of LDS beliefs. I follow the good example of my youth leaders, family, and friends with good standards.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Josh Vrska
Yes, they can live together forever. This is one reason why I love to be a Mormon. Being with my family forever is something that excites me and I look forward to. I know that even when a family member leaves this Earth life, that I will be with them together again. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Josh Vrska
No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. We simply revere him. We do this because he is the Prophet of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We worship our Savior Jesus Christ and God the Eternal Father. Jesus Christ is central the church. The actual name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We are the church of Jesus Christ, not the church of Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
