Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a student, I'm a writer, I'm a dancer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Sarah, and I'm a sophomore at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I grew up in Colorado, California, and Utah. I moved a lot because my parents got divorced when I was five. It’s been a hard journey. There is often tension and the aftermath of my parents’ divorce continues. But I’ve learned how to overcome challenges with God’s help. Now, I'm 19 years old. I love to draw, ballroom dance, and hike, and play the piano. I live in Utah, and I'm an avid BYU Cougars fan! I love to laugh, learn new things, be with my family, and eat yummy food.I love being alive and experiencing every second to the very fullest. This world is amazing and beautiful, and I am blessed to be a part of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon my whole life, but I don't follow this because it's just a family tradition. I follow because Christ bears my burdens and makes them become light. Being in a family with divorced parents is a hard, stressful, sad experience for me, but my afflictions are swallowed up in the joy of Christ. He lives, and He loves me! I am His daughter, and I can return to Him someday if I live up to my promises to be like Him. When He suffered in Gethsemane, He bore all our afflictions and sadness as well as our sin. I love him so much for that, and I am eternally grateful. Because I can't express my gratitude enough to Him, I have to pay it forward and help be His hands on Earth. I know this church is true, and it has blessed my life in incredible, amazing, fantastic amounts. Feeling and knowing that Heavenly Father is MY father and He loves me is the most amazing blessing ever! I know this without a doubt, and I LOVE HIM. This gospel is the good news, the pure truth, and the true light of hope and happiness. The Savior lives. He is the Prince of Peace, our Advocate with the Father, my Brother, and everlasting Friend. I know that He died for us on Calvary and suffered for our sins in Gethsemane. He is the Light of the World and our perfect example. He knows and loves us intimately. He knows and loves me intimately. I have felt that all-encompassing love and it has brought me true joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by smiling, helping others, and creating a life that shows how much I love Christ and want to be like Him. I'm a Christian, and every day I try my hardest to follow in His footsteps. He has helped me more than I could ever describe with words, so because of that, I trust Him enough to follow Him and let Him do the rest. "The more you trust and rely upon the Spirit, the greater your capacity to create." -Dieter F. Uchdorf. I am currently serving a full-time mission in Busan, Korea where I have the honor of bringing the light of hope to God's children by proclaiming the good news of His gospel. Through serving others, we can feel of the Savior's love to a greater extent than we have before, and it is a privilege for me to be one who is in that position. I know that although I may lack certain natural talents or abilities, I can ask the Lord for whatsoever thing I stand in need, and He will provide a way.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Sarah
Jesus is the Christ, the Prince of Peace, the Son of God, and our Savior. He saves us from sins, death, and from sadness. He created the earth, and through His Atonement, we can live forever with our families and our Heavenly Father again. He is the Son of God. Jesus Christ mercifully condescended to live on our earth, dwelling in a tabernacle of the clay that He Himself molds, and took upon Him our sins so that we might become like Him. He is the Prince of Peace, our Advocate with the Father, my Brother, and everlasting Friend. I know that He died for us on Calvary and suffered for our sins in Gethsemane. He is the Light of the World and our perfect example. He knows and loves us intimately. Show more Show less
