Hi I'm Kathryn

I am from Texas. I will be serving in California for eighteen months. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am tweny-two, and serving a full time mission for the Chruch. I have lived in California, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. Texas is home. Before I came out on my mission, I was living with my parents and younger brother in a travel trailer. My Dad was laid off of his job in 2010, and had struggled to gain a new one for three and a half years. He worked little jobs here and there, but eventually we lost our home. I lived in Arizona during the heat of my family's trials, trying to be a responsible adult, and lessen the financial burden on my family. I was working, attending the local Institute of Religion and getting ready to go to school, when I was filled with the desire to serve a mission. I thought: No way. There is no way that I can serve. My youngest brother would be getting ready to go on his misson, money was tight. No way. The thought of serving frightened me, but I knew that with the Lord, all things were possible. I came back to Texas, and stuck it out in the little travel trailer for over a year, before I finally turned in my papers. The road was a bumpy one. I had to overcome my fears, and doubts, let go of my past, and embrace my present. The Lord blessed my life, and blessed my family with a closeness, and a faith I know we could not have gained without our trials. My brother and I entered the MTC on the same day. Two weeks in, my Dad got a great job, and I know, without a doubt, if we give our time to God, he will take care of us.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized at age eight, and I have tried to live my life in a way that would please my Father in Heaven and his Son, Jesus Christ. I always knew that Christ lived and loved me, but I didn't develop a true testimony of His church until I was in my teen years. I learned through trial and error about life, and through the teachings of my parents and faithful leaders I was able to grow from my experiences. Through the tender mercies of the Lord, I have found faith in the atonement. I know that God lives, and that he sent his only begotten son to this earth to teach us, and redeem us. I know that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God, that he saw God the Father, and Jesus Christ, and that he was given revelation from them to establish the true church upon the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. Almost every time I need an answer to my prayers, I find it within that holy book. The savior can communicate to us through it's pages, if we have an open heart.

How I live my faith

I strive to make Jesus Christ the center of my life. I love serving others, and sharing the good things that I know.
