Hi I'm Susie

I grew up in Brigham City and Honeyville, Utah. I am a preschool teacher and I love the children I teach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I am Susan Seamons. Apparently before I came along my Grandpa Hendrickson would look at every little girl and call her Susie Q. My parents both looked at each other when I was born and said I looked like my Grandpa Hendricksons Susie Q. I am currently a preschool teacher. I love spending time with children telling them stories. I enjoy seeing their eyes light up with their understanding of what I am teaching them. I enjoy spending time with my family playing Chinese Checkers, Clue, Flinch, Rook and Monopoly. Whatever we are doing together, we love to talk and laugh! I have enjoyed watching John Wayne Films, Star Wars, The original Star Trek Series, Race to Witch Mountain and Captain America 1 and 2 as well as The Avengers and The Prince of Persia. I enjoy collecting spun glass knick knacks. I play the piano. I enjoy being on facebook and twitter.

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it gives me stability. I have a strong testimony of Jesus Christ, HIS Atonement and the fact that He was Resurrected and Lives again! I am so grateful to know that when I make a mistake I can pray to Heavenly Father and be forgiven. This is all due to the fact that Heavenly Father has a plan for us, and HIS plan is all about how HE sent HIS Only Begotten Son to Atone for all HIS other childrens mistakes because HIS Only Begotten Son is the only perfect person who has ever walked on this earth and so the only person who could make it possible for the rest of HIS children to return into HIS Presence!

How I live my faith

I enjoy teaching little children about our beliefs in Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. I know I cannot teach the children I teach in preschool about our beliefs, however I have always enjoyed teaching the children in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints about our beliefs. I thoroughly enjoy playing hymns on the piano.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Susie
We believe that after we die, the Spirit inside our body that makes us who we are will leave our body, and go back to Heaven to see God, and we also believe that we will be able to see our loved ones who have died before we did. We believe that when we get to Heaven, it is not the end of us because our Spirits continue to live. Since we will continue to live, we also believe we will continue to learn all that God wants us to learn. We believe that God loves us, so we believe that God wants us all to continue to learn and progress. There is a time after we die that each of us will have the opportunity to have our Spirit reunited with our body, never to be seperated again, so we will all be resurrected! This resurrection was made possible by the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ who is our Redeemer! Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Susie
Mormon Women work in many different professions. When a Mormon woman marries and then begins to have her family with her husband, she may decide to be the primary Caregiver of her children. When she does this she is able to grately influence the upbringing of her children so that they grow up with the Christian Ideals that we desire them to have! Mormons encourage their women to get an excellent education so that they can support themselves, or themselves along with their children if the need may arise. A Mormon women can decide on which vocation she wants to work in and she enjoys being able to learn as much as possible! Both Mormon Men & Women can sustain those who are called by God through our humble leaders to be teachers, song leaders, organists, in leadership positions, or in any other position in our church. Also, both Men & Women can hold different leadership positions. Women can be called as Presidents over the Relief Society which makes them responsible for all of the Women and their families. Men can be called as Bishops(Pastors) which makes them responsible for all the Men & Women & their families. In these Big Responsibilities, Presidents of the Relief Society as well as their counselors work hand in hand with the Bishops and their counselors. In my opinion these roles are equal. Mormon Men & Women are truly treated as Equals!!! Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Susie
The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints as always is adhering to GOD our HEAVENLY FATHERS chastity laws. We all need to remember that this Church is run by GOD's Only Begotten SON JESUS CHRIST. HE is the Head of this Church. This means that we must obey all of CHRISTs teachings. It is just as important to obey these chastity laws that come from CHRIST which are outlined in Leviticus as it is to obey the chastity requirements about no sexual relations before marriage. We are all required to obey these chastity laws even when it is very difficult. I am a single sister, and as such I do find it very difficult to obey all of CHRISTs chastity laws. However I know I must if I am to ultimately gain my Eternal Exaltation. All of us as we are growing up have feelings towards members of our same gender, as well as feelings towards the opposite gender. In my opinion this is how Satan turns so many of us in our youth to feeling that we must be "gay" or "lesbian", AND ITS JUST NOT SO. However if Satan could win more and more people would not have children, so more and more of GODs Children or those who have not had an opportunity to come down and have mortal bodies would not get this opportunity. If we think about it even if those who are in same-sex relations adopt their children, someone with opposite sex feelings must have given that child their mortal body. I know that GOD our HEAVENLY FATHER AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST LOVE US ALL, & THEY WANT US TO OBEY. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Susie
We believe it is very important for families to worship together. This is why we have a meeting that is called Sacrament Meeting. We are able to bring all of our children of different ages with us in order to help them learn with us about Jesus Christ. We are very happy that our church has been given the authority by our Lord Jesus Christ to seal families through sacred ordinances in our Holy Temples. By sealing families we believe that we will be together up in Heaven as well as here on the earth. My family and I are very close. I have talked with some people who are not close at all to their families here on the earth. This is one reason why I love belonging to this church, we can all feel that we are members of a much larger family who love us. As a single sister I love the fact that in our church we call one another Sister Somebody as well as Brother Somebody. I am called Sister Seamons. This not only helps me feel that I am a part of a much larger family, but it also helps the children to be more respectful as well. Show more Show less
