Hi I'm Joanna

I grew up in the wide open spaces of Wyoming. I'm a busy mother of four and an ordinary person. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a dairy farm in Wyoming where I learned the values of hard work and persistence. I married my best friend and we have four wonderful children. Our youngest child was born with a congenital heart defect, and his challenges have been a strange and wonderful blessing to our family as we've learned to lean more fully on the Lord. I love to read, learn new things, run, sing, laugh, cook mystery dinners/desserts, grow (and eat!) fresh vegetables and fruits, and study the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Wow, what a wonderful question! My parents are both converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I was raised a Mormon, but that is not why I am one now that I am grown and have a family of my own. I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I have had wonderful experiences with the Spirit of God as I have pondered the scriptures, prayed, and searched for myself to know the path I should follow in my own life. I am a Mormon because I know God lives, that Jesus Christ is His Divine Son, and that God loves His children and continues to guide us through prophets and revelation. I know that I am a child of God with boundless potential and that as I rely on the merits and mercy of Christ, I will return again to God's presence and enjoy the blessings of eternal life with Him and with my family.

How I live my faith

I think the most important thing I do to live my faith is to pray and study the scriptures daily. When I reach out to heaven in prayer and then immerse myself in the word of God, I feel connected to my Heavenly Father and to my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Then, because I have made that connection, the Holy Ghost is able to more easily guide me to be of service to others throughout my day.
