Hi I'm Esther

I live in the United States. I love reading, writing, sports, foreign languages, science and playing piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest child of 4 children with 3 little brothers. I love learning. The world is so full of new and exciting discoveries. Right now I'm a college student studying Mechanical Engineering. I'm a part-time intern at a university laboratory (which is where the spider picture is from). I love the arts, too. I fill my spare time with with reading and writing science fiction and fantasy novels. (Harry Potter is the best!)

Why I am a Mormon

My faith in Jesus Christ brings me happiness--a happiness of powerful and lasting peace. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me hope and optimism, even during the darkest of times. Because of my faith, I know things will always get better. I was blessed with parents who taught me the restored gospel, but I still had to find the truth for myself. I read the Book of Mormon several times and ponder its message. Most importantly, I prayed. I prayed and asked God if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church, and over and over I've had the same reassuring answer--a very quiet but powerful "Yes." I know God lives and that He answers prayers, because He always answers mine. The Bible says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." If you ever feel lost or confused, pray. I can promise you God will guide you if you will sincerely ask.

How I live my faith

I can't find words to describe how important Jesus Christ is to me. He loves everyone so deeply and individually. Every day I try to set an example to my little brothers by emulating the perfect exemplar--Jesus Christ. I want to share my knowledge of Jesus Christ and the happiness His restored gospel brings me. For the next 18 months, I'm putting my life on hold to serve as a missionary so that I can teach others about Jesus Christ and invite them to come closer to Him.

What is faith?

Faith = trust in God It is trust that He is there and trust that He can fulfill all of His promises. Faith is in believing and relying on the Atonement of Jesus Christ and His power to heal. God doesn't expect us to blindly put our trust in Him. Faith builds as we experiment on God's word. You start keeping a commandment, you read the scriptures, or you attend church. Then you look at how you feel. Are you happier? Do you have the feelings of peace God promises? That's how you know that the commandment is right or that the scriptures are true. You gain faith by acting. Show more Show less
