Hi I'm Rich

I love to play hockey, I've lived all over the USA, I do comedy improv, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am in college right now in Idaho going into business marketing. I love the sport of hockey and plan on using my degree that I get to work for a pro team. I've been able to live in a lot of places across the country, Maine, Arkansas, New Mexico, Virginia, Ohio, Idaho, California, Alberta, and Colorado and all those places feel special to me in a way. I've worked in sales and security systems tech work, and have been able to meet just about every kind of person out there. Some of them are pretty interesting.

Why I am a Mormon

Every single person needs to develop their own testimony to know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and this is His church. I was fortunate to grow up being taught the Gospel. There was a time when I wasn't living my life the way I knew I should have been. I still didn't have my own testimony. At the height of my misery I decided that it was time for a change. Since I had been brought up in the church of course I started there. That's when I started to feel a change in my life. The atonement of Jesus Christ became real to me in a way that I had never allowed it to be before. My life changed and I started to feel peace. That's why I chose to be a missionary, so that I could show people that the atonement is there and Christ has not left them, but is waiting for them.

How I live my faith

Living the right way really comes down to the basics. Everyday I try to make sure that I am living my faith by praying and reading my scriptures. Every week I go to church. I try to take as much as I can out of these, and even though it is difficult sometimes it's always worthwhile. I spent 2 years as a missionary in Colorado, which has left me with a great sense of love for the people in the areas I was able to go. Everyday is a struggle to live the right way. When we succeed we can feel the Holy Ghost and the joy he brings. When we fall we can get us quickly again and keep trying. The gift of repentance gives us hope.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

When you read the scriptures and really let them mean something to you, there is a great sense of peace that comes, even in a chaotic time. Reading them every day is the best, because that dose of peace ad guidance can come to you much more that way. Reading the scriptures is an easy way to let God talk you and give you the answer to your prayers. Show more Show less
