Hi I'm Julina

I grew up in a small beach community. I'm a wife, a stay at home mom, a world traveler and love learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

If I had unlimited time and money, I would spend it traveling the world with my family, scrapbooking, and reading good books. I have a Master's degree in teaching English as a second language. I love languages and cultures so it was fun and fulfilling to teach adults from all over the world for many years. Now, I find great joy and satisfaction in the simple pleasures of life at home raising my new son. I like trying new recipes. And, I love weekly date nights with my husband!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, but somewhere along the way as I went to church each week, read the scriptures, prayed, listened to the prophet, and tried my best to live the standards of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I had simple, quiet moments where I came to know and feel that it was true. I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is scripture given to us by a loving Heavenly Father who wants us to be the happiest we can be. When I read it, my day is better and I find applicable lessons every time from the stories inside of it. I'm a Mormon because I know we have a living prophet and apostles on the earth. I feel good when I hear them speak and I want to be a better wife, mother, and person because of what they say. The things they say are uplifting and are the things that I know the Savior would say if He were on the earth. I'm a Mormon because I love the emphasis of the Church on building strong, eternal families. I'm a Mormon because trying to live the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ I hear at church every week really does bring me joy and help me become the person I want to be. If not for being Mormon, I think I would have been a very shy, reserved person. But Mormons emphasize serving, befriending, and helping others, doing the things that the Savior would want us to do. Although I am far from perfect at doing any of these things, following these teachings has helped me change for the better.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith my putting into practice the things I believe in. I know that reading the Book of Mormon brings me direction and peace, so I try to read from it daily. I pray every day for strength and guidance from Heavenly Father. Although I enjoyed my profession as a teacher, I stopped working when my son was born because I believe the most important work I will ever do is with my children and I want to give that my full attention. I was a missionary for 18 months in Croatia. Now, I teach the youth every Sunday about the principles taught by Jesus Christ that will help them find true happiness.
