Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a world traveler, college student, vegetarian, friend and indie music/movie/arts junkie. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I have a sloppy-joe family set up which I love deeply. I feel like I have the greatest friends on earth as well as the largest variation. I love camping, but it has to be really camping. Staying in a cabin just doesn't cut it for me. If you aren't sleeping under the stars, you aren't doing it right. I want to travel all over the world but more than anything I'd like to live in India one day. I aspire to be a therapist for children. I really like helping people, it's what makes me happy. So why not do it for a living, right? I still color and I sing all kinds of song when I am driving around in my car. I have 2 rabbits and they have my heart. My biggest guilty pleasure is drinking Coke-Cola. Honestly, I am just trying my best to do what I love and make it through school and that seems to be working for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into this church but that doesn't mean that I have always believed in it. I had a very difficult few years and I was so angry with everyone and everything around me. I wasn't happy nor was I living a healthy lifestyle. I contemplated leaving the church several times but there was always something or someone that happened to draw me back such as; the power of the atonement, forgiveness, unconditional love, service, plan of salvation, the restoration, modern day revelation and repentance etc. I have been truly blessed by the gospel. It has literally saved my life. I love God and I know that he loves us unconditionally. I love that through his gospel we can be with those we love forever and not just here on this earth. I love that he has never left us. He is not just a historical figure, he is consistently here for us. We are not alone and life doesn't have to be full of dread and despair. I want others to know of his love and his dedication to helping us become as happy as possible. I am overcome with joy, love, acceptance and hope whenever I think of this church. I know that for me these particular feelings couldn't be here any other way.

How I live my faith

I have done many things through out my upbringing in the church but currently, I am an avid supporter events that takes place through the church. I try to participate in as many activities as possible and make new friends and grow spiritually. I love going to church, reading scriptures (despite my dyslexia) and spreading the things I learn and love with those around me.
