Hi I'm Taylor Garner

I am from Utah. I love music, sports, and the outdoors. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am 21 years old. I have a huge passion for music. I play drums and guitar, and actually have recorded some of my music in the studio. I also golf a lot; that is my other favorite hobby. I play a lot of sports in competitive leagues with my friends like softball, basketball, and football. I love camping, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling. I love trying new things and being active... There's a name for guys like me: Jack of all trades, but master of none ;)

Why I am a Mormon

My immediate family are all active members of the church and have been my whole life. Along the way, I took a different route in life, and went inactive for a long time. In September 2011, my life changed forever. My grandma who had passed away earlier that month appeared to me in a dream, and told me some specific things to keep my eye out for, and said if those things happend that i should take it as a sign to go to church(my grandma was never a member of the church while she was alive). the things she talked about in the dream happend the next night while I was hanging out with my group of friends. I left the place where I was at, and went home where i offered up the first sincere prayer I had uttered in my life. I was instantly filled with an understanding of my father in heaven and his love for me. He knows who I am, knows my faults, and knows my strengths. I knew he had been present for every struggle and hard time in my life up to that point. He never left, he just gave me space to take my own steps. I decided i would throw away the very opposite life i was living, and fully emerge myself in the gospel. After that night, i attended the priesthood session of general conference a few days later where Elder Jeffrey R. Holland challenged the men of the church to figure it out, get on a mission, and stand up for what we believe. i asked my bishop if i could potentially serve a mission, and i was told i had to wait a year. I waited that year, and now am called to serve in Lubbock, Texas to share the incredible message of the truth of this church. i have read every word in the Book of Mormon, and know it is the truth. There is a God. We are his children. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can live eternally with God.

How I live my faith

My calling currently is Secretary in the Young Mens Presidency of my ward. I work with the boys from ages 12-18, and help keep them involved with positive things to keep them out of trouble. I am going on a mission to Lubbock, Texas and I hope that my example will rub off on all of those guys. I have been asked to speak at a lot of firesides, youth conferences, and in church to share my story in my own personal conversion to the church.
