Hi I'm Kip

I love to study the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love life and everything it offers me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I served a proselyting mission for the Mormon faith. My wife and I are best friends. The things that I enjoy doing wouldn't be nearly as fulfilling if she weren't alongside me as I do them...hiking, biking, reading, traveling. I think that we are pretty much alike. I am a prostate cancer survivor.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Mormon faith, served a mission as a young man, but still wasn't fully converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In fact, it wasn't until I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, that I really looked inward and assessed what my true beliefs were. My total conversion came as I prayed and sought my own personal witness of truths I had learned many years previous. I know that a family can be bound as an eternal union, if done so by God's Priesthood, which is the power and authority to act in His name. I know, from my life experience, that true peace and lasting joy come from living the commandments of God. Commandments from a loving Father in Heaven are liberating, not restrictive. Anyone can discover this individually if they are willing to live God's lifestyle. He wants all of His children to be happy! I know that living Prophets walk the earth today, we are not left without revelation from our Father. I know that temples, literally a House of God, are available for all of God's children to enter and learn of Him and His ways.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others! I have only recently discovered in my life what the Savior meant by "finding" oneself by "losing" oneself. I have found that service comes in many varieties. Don't forget that caring for your family is service...doing the dishes, folding laundry, and so on. I serve as a finance clerk in my local church group. I absolutely love the Sabbath Day and look forward every week to having my batteries recharged as I mingle with other members of my faith. I believe I can communicate openly and honestly with the Father of my spirit in prayer. I know that He knows me personally.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

You better believe it! I love the Bible! It contains the words of Jesus Christ, and His actions among the Jewish people. I love to read and think of Him and how He perfectly responded to every event recorded therein. I am thankful to be able to read the words recorded by ancient prophets that testified of Him before His birth and after His resurrection. None of the truths recorded in the Holy Bible contradicts the doctrine and truths contained in the additional Holy Scripture that I believe in, such as the Book of Mormon. They only strengthen one another as witnesses of Christ's divine mission for all mankind. Show more Show less
