Hi I'm David

I'm a Husband. I'm a Dad. I work in the hotel industry and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Pennsylvania and Michigan. My parents joined the church when I was a young boy. I attended BYU and served a full time mission for the church in Argentina. Now I'm married and have three children. My employment has led me to many places and given me many opportunities to meet people and to help others. I have a happy home and family and we have a lot of fun together.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always sure that the LDS church was what I wanted in my life. As a teenager I struggled to discover for myself whether I believed the teachings of Christ or whether the church was actually His. Over time and as I tried to live as I hoped Christ would have me, I came to feel that the church is His and that my best chance to be truly happy was to be an active participant in the church. As my life progresses, I have not been constantly happy and my life has not followed exactly the course I expected, but I find that I have a sense of general peace and hope. I continue to be an active Mormon because the church gives me a framework to be able to really help others. I also sincerely believe and know that by keeping promises I made when I was baptized, that I can be with my family forever and that I can please God and Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the church in a very small branch with a relative few members. My assignment right now is to be a clerk, so I am keeping track of the members and the finances. I also help the branch president and keep track of his appointments. Aside from church assignments though, I just try very hard to be a good man. I live honestly and I strive to always be kind and to treat others fairly. My wife and I teach our daughters consistently to be good in there lives.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Old and New testament prophets proclaimed that there would be a falling away, an apostasy. This occurred with the death of the apostles of Christ. The church and the authority to act in the name of Christ were gone from the earth. Both of these had to be restored, and this began when God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in answer to his question - which church he should join. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

The law of chastity states that a man and a woman are to be legally and lawfully married before there are any sexual relations between them. We are not to have sexual relations before marriage or outside of marriage. Even though many people no longer see this belief as valid, I believe that it is clear that misery follows those who do not follow this law. I know it is God's law. Show more Show less

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

The tithing paid by church members, in effect, is returned to them in the form of beautiful meetinghouses, temples for worship, budgetary funds for church units, funds for education, and more. I love to pay tithing. I always have what I need. Show more Show less
