Hi I'm Carol

I went to Catholic School for 6 years. I love Harry Potter and Doctor Who. I am studying Math Education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a wrestler in high school, and have a growing interest in dance and jui-jitsu in college. I stay active by walking or biking to school or work everyday. I make several friends that I always keep in touch. I love adventure and discovering/doing new things. I love to bake and cook because it makes me feel "homey". I love the outdoors and activities alike. I believe myself to be a nerd who gets caught being in love with Harry Potter and Doctor Who. I love to sing loud and proud, so I will sing diva songs especially when I a really happy. That is me!

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a convert to the Church, so when I was born, I was born into the Church and grew up with all of its teachings. When I was eight years old, I had a choice to be baptized or not. My mother remembers me crying to her and saying "Yes Mom, I wanna be baptized!" I was baptized, but I wasn't converted. I starting living the standards of the Church to my best ability (because I lived them half-heartedly all my life) when I was converted at the age of 19. When I went to college, I started studying the Book of Mormon with real intent. That's when I found out that the Church is true, that I could have been happier all my life before had I been paying attention in Church, and that I could have shared the gospel to my friends in high school. I am Mormon because I am happy with the new found life-style that I have now as an active member of the Church. I live free from constant temptation. I know this Church is true. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know that God lives and that his Son suffered and atoned for our sins and died so everyone can stand in the presence of God with our resurrected bodies. It is because of these truths for why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I go to Church every Sunday, and after church I usually go to meetings for a church council. On Sunday nights, My best friend and I love to sing church hymns with a group of friends from our church. Monday night, I spend time with my family learning about the gospel and doing a fun family activity afterwards. Thursday, I take Church classes and learning about being a better Missionary, a better spouse, or learn about the history of our current prophet and apostles. I attend many Church activities that are sports affiliated like volleyball or social like a BBQ so I can get to know the people in my Church better. I also like to visit my fellow sisters of the Church and share a message of the gospel with them and check up on them and their daily life to see how they are fairing. Whenever there is an opportunity, I love to listen the talks of the prophet and apostles. That is how I live my faith.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Serving a mission is voluntary and a choice made by the one who wants to serve a mission. All of those who want to serve a mission, pray and ask God if it is the right course in their life. Now missionaries can serve at 18 for men and 19 for women. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We do not worship Joseph Smith or any of the other prophets. We thank them for their service to lead and guide us. I love the Prophet Joseph Smith, because he has helped restored the gospel of Jesus Christ back on the Earth, so that my family and I can know how we can return to live with our Father in Heaven.
