Hi I'm Savannah

Provo Utah Spanish Speaking Missionary. Student at BYUI. I love music. I love cats. I love the Lord. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a sophomore at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying music performance, but taking a year and a half off to serve my hermanos y hermanas in the Provo, Utah Spanish Speaking mission!!! I love traveling places and learning new things. I enjoy playing my clarinet in the BYUI symphony orchestra and love all the opportunities I've had because of it! Currently, I'm back home in Charleston, SC. I work as a swim instructor for kindergarten-2nd graders in low-income areas. The program I work for aims to decrease the amount of drowning that happens in this area due to lack of swimming knowledge, and seeing the progress of these children gives me such inspiration and fulfillment. I enjoy sharing my talents and knowledge of swimming with them, and love it with my whole heart! I have a firm testimony of this gospel and can't wait to also share my talents and knowledge of it with those who are in need of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, and I grew up with a sturdy foundation centered on the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the Restoration of the Gospel. When I was 8 years old I decided to be baptized into the church, which made me an official member of the church. Since then, the church has been a very important part of my life. I am surrounded by people who lift me up, and inspire me to be a better, and more faithful woman. Every day I find more reasons to be thankful I'm a member of this church, and my testimony has grown significantly as I have had to face my teenage years. The standards that I have been taught have become a stability in the often-turbulent years of youth. The knowledge of where I come from, and where I'm going reassures my self-worth, and makes me think more often about the self-worth of those around me, which helps me forgive and love more easily. I often think about the plan that my Heavenly Father has in store for me, and it gives my the strength to endure. I read my scriptures regularly and it always reaffirms my faith of this true gospel. Going to a church university has especially increased my testimony and to know that I can be sealed to my family for time and all eternity gives me such happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day through always trying to be smiling and happy and being a light of joy, especially to those who may need it.
