Hi I'm Kelsey

I grew up in Idaho. I want to be an elementary school teacher. I love laughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love teaching. There is no better thing then to see the light of understanding come into people's eyes. I went to BYU-Idaho for three years to become an elementary school teacher and I will go back to finish after I complete my full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I play the clarinet and in high school I was in the marching, pep, and concert bands. I really enjoy theater. My family is the most important part of my life. They inspire me to be the best I can be. We have the same religious beliefs and find great strength in praying to God and reading His word in the scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that has a heritage of being Mormon. Generations back to my great-great-great grandparents actively participated in this church. I have always loved it. However, I took the steps necessary to make sure I knew on my own that this church is true. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. I felt such a warm feeling in my heart. That feeling has grown since then. I'm a strong believer that anything that inspires truth and goodness is of God. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints definitely inspires those things. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that today the prophet of God is Thomas S. Monson. I also know that families can be together forever. That is a huge reason why not only myself but my family diligently participates in our church, so that we can all work towards that forever goal together.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to teach elementary school aged children, both at church and in schools. I teach them not only factual things, but also to live by the Golden Rule. It's really important to me that children learn how to be kind to each other. I have also taught adults ages 18-27 at church, but in all reality I feel that they taught me most. It was a great experience to read from the Bible and Book of Mormon and then discuss what we've read all together. I was a counselor over women ages 18 and older at church for several months while I was attending college. It was a wonderful opportunity to make friends and find ways to serve other people. I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is the most wonderful thing in the world! I do all I can to teach others about God and His goodness.
