Hi I'm Carolyn Edwards

I live in Utah. I have an associates degree. I am happily married and the mother of 7 children.

About Me

My name is Carolyn. I have moved around to several places in Utah, California, and Idaho. I went to college and got an associate degree. I was Married in 1987 in Oakland Cal to Matthew. I am the mother of 7 children, and love being a stay at home mom. My first Grandchild was born about a year ago, and its been fun learning how to be a good grandma. I love camping, hiking, and being outdoors. I also love to write. I write letters to my family and stories for my children. I love music. I learned to play the flute when I was young and have continued to play it through out my life. I also love to sing. I sung in choirs when I was in high school and college and have continued to try to sing in the church choir. I love to sing in the car with my kids. We've been on several family vacations together to different places and have enjoyed being able to spend that time together.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 10 years old. I was driving down the street with my mother and looking at all the different LDS churches there were. I didn't notice any other church and I had never heard of one. Everyone in my family was a Mormon. So I asked my mother, "are there any other churches besides the Mormon church?" My mother looked at me surprised and started naming the different churches like the Catholic Church and the baptist church. I thought about that and then I asked, "Then how to you know that the Mormon church is the true church? What if a different church is true?" My mother looked at me and said to me, "Carolyn, I can't tell you how I know the church is true. But, I know that Heavenly Father will tell you." I thought about that for the rest of the day. That night I knelt to pray as I had done my whole life. But, it was different because this time I really wanted to know. I wanted to know what church Heavenly Father wanted me to be in. As I prayed I got the warmest feeling that filled me up inside. It felt like Heavenly Father was right there giving me a hug. It felt so wonderful. Then a thought came to me that said, "Carolyn I love you and I want you to be in the Mormon Church." When I thought that my whole body felt so warm inside I just knew that the church was true. I knew that Heavenly Father was telling me that he loved me. Since that experience I have tried to live what the church has taught. I am not perfect, but I know that the Lord loves me. The Church has helped me to be happy. Any happiness I have had is because of the church and its teachings. I have had several other times in my life when I have felt Heavenly Fathers love. I hope that some day I can meet him and be worthy to be with him.

How I live my faith

Right now I visit the ladies in the church and try to help them if they need it. It nice to visit with them in their homes. I help organize the sisters so they can visit each other and help one another in there daily life. I get the opportunity to teach the sisters a lesson on Sunday once every 3 months. We have done several service projects for families that have had illness. We have also helped several families who have moved and needed help packing. I have had the opportunity to teach the children in our area music on Sunday. I taught them songs from the children's song book the church has during singing time. I have also worked in the cub scouting program. I have been a den mother and loved helping the boys with there projects. There was a flood in our area not to long ago and I took my children down to help the families in our area clean out the basements that were flooded. We have a family night once a week with my kids every Monday night. during this time we have a short lesson. This is an opportunity for my husband and I to teach our children what we believe. But, we also play games, tell stories, and spend time together. It is a wonderful time to be together as a family and has brought us closer together. I try to read from the bible or the book of Mormon every day to my kids. I feel its important for my children to know about the stories there and learn from them. Most important is that I am a mother. I try to teach my children what is right and what Heavenly Father wants them to do. I want my family to stay close together and help each other. This is what makes life happy for us. I feel I need to be here for them. I am go thankful for my husband who has allowed me to do this for my children.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Carolyn Edwards
We believe in families. Families are very important to us. We want to live with them beyond this life hear on earth. We want to live with them forever even after death. Everything we do in our life should help us with this goal. We go to church every Sunday. This is important so we can remember the things to help us Choose the right. We have family home evening on Monday nights. This is a time for the family to get together and not only learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ, but also spend time together. We read our scriptures and pray so we can know what it is that will make us happy and allow us to live forever with our family if we are worthy. We send our sons out on missions so we can help others know that families can be together forever. Then we try to help the families around us. Serving each other and helping each other work through this life is important and will help us be happy. Doing service helps teach us as families how to be better and remind us of the many blessings we have each day. Show more Show less
