Hi I'm Tia

I grew up in Southern California. I served in the Air Force. I'm a Mormon

About Me

For the last three years I have been working on finishing a degree in health science, wow what a task. I love sports of all kind but I do prefer to play rather than to just sit in watch. I have three wonderful, in my opinion, teenage children who are the reason I wake up and go to work everyday. I have a little dog that most days drives me to the edge of sanity, but she is my source of entertainment, good think I am easily entertained. I am divorced and look forward to what the future holds for me.

Why I am a Mormon

Eighteen years ago some friends invited me to attend church with them, it was an invitation that changed my life forever. I had always been interested in going to church, but never really felt fulfilled. The moment I walked into the church building for the first time I felt as though I was home and knew this was where I was supposed to be. Now I am not going to say the last 18 years have been perfect, in fact for 9 years I didn't even attend church. During that time I always felt like something was missing but never wanted to admit what it was. I never gave up my belief in the realness of the gospel I just didn't participate. I wasn't until a birthday call from my best friend, who had been praying for me for 9 years, that I realized what I needed to do. Since that time my life has grown in ways I cannot explain except to say there is a fullness that has returned to my life. I no longer feel alone or lost and that feeling comes from knowing that Jesus Christ is always by my side no matter what I am doing.

How I live my faith

I was recently called to be a Sunday School teacher and I must say it scared me to death, talking in front of groups of people makes me very nervous. After the butterflies settled I realized this was exactly what I needed. In the last 18 years I have enjoyed various callings, but probably my favorite has been visiting teaching. This gives me the opportunity to visit with other women, sometimes much wiser than I, and see them in a natural environment. I try very hard everyday to live my life as if Jesus Christ was right next to me watching every move I make, because let's face it, He really is always there.
