Hi I'm Heather

i have two dogs, one will serve in hospitals with me. Ibe been a Mormon my whole life, and I love it!

About Me

I grew up in Utah, surrounded by others of my faith, but when I moved to Washington after graduating college, I had the chance to teach the gospel to new friends. I have loved that opportunity because I love the gospel so much. I love to read and to watch movies. My family is amazing, even though we are scattered across the United States. I have two dogs, and I'm working with one of them to get therapy certified so that we can volunteer in hospitals together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am far from perfect, nor will I ever reach perfection, but I try every day because I know that He will make up the rest. I have felt God's love for me all my life through family and friends, and sometimes just through His scriptures or the simple blessing of the Earth we live on. I have never had any reason to doubt His existence. Some may consider this a weakness, but nothing in my experience has ever led me to believe that He doesn't exist or that He doesn't care for His children. I have had plenty of moment of loss, fear, pain, and regret; however, I have found that every time I turn to Him in prayer, knowing that he may not answer how I wish or expect, he has given me the strength and help I need. I feel His approval when I follow his council, given through His prophets, and I have been blessed beyond comprehension too many times to count, even though I've never deserved it. Whenever I've had an issue I could not fix, He always helps me see it through to a proper conclusion. There is no peace like the peace I feel in His holy temples. There is no power like that of His power on Earth to lift and strengthen His children. I am who I am because of Him - I exist because of Him - and I could never regret what I have done or who I have become because of my belief in Him. He is my salvation.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday, and serve in our temples two to four times a month. I currently work with the sisters in my ward to make sure all are being befriended and visited regularly because we are all His children. I live my faith by following God's commandments and the words of His prophets. I try to live in such a way that I can proudly stand before my maker when the time comes. I do not read books or watch tv shows or movies which have inappropriate content, nor those that make me feel further from my God in any way if I can help it. I attempt to treat my fellow men as true heirs of Christ, and I see this world as a gift from God.
