Hi I'm Alyson

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a stay at home mom to 3 boys and 1 girl. My husband is partner at his Architect firm. Our Family enjoys going to our boy's sporting events, camping, fishing, family movie night, and trips to see grandparents. My personal hobbies are taking pictures of my family, paper crafting, quilting, running, cooking, and baking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family. I was raised in the church. I had my moments as a teenager that I didn't always want to do the right thing or go to church. My parents had strict rules to protect me & keep me safe, but they never forced the church or their testimonies on me. I never had any desire to change religions, but I also didn't have a testimony of my own of the LDS church. When I left home I figured this out for myself. I went to church, I studied, I prayed, I discussed it with my roommates. I realized I did believe in everything I had been taught my whole life. My testimony continues to grow everyday. I know the Book of Mormon is true, as is the Bible. They have teachings that apply to us today. I am grateful for their teachings. I believe God has a plan for each of us & knows each of us. I know that I can communicate with Him through prayer. I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ & I know that he atoned for the sins of the world. I know that Joseph Smith not only restored the church, but is a prophet of God. I know that God still speaks to us through a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I know of the Spirit in the temples. I know that there are sacred sealing ordinances & that my family can be together forever. This is such a comfort and strength for me. I love my husband and children and siblings and parents and grandparents so much & I know that if we all live righteously, we will be together forever. On my hard days, when I'm not having a good mom day, knowing that these gifts from God will be with me for eternity, helps me try harder & keep going. I know that I am a Daughter of God, who loves me, and I love him. I share this with you from my heart and pray that the spirit touches your heart.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Secretary on our Cub Scout Committee. I have two boys in scouting and this has been a great way to stay involved and understand the Scout program. I am involved at my children's elementary school. I recently volunteered with a Time Out For Women event & The IronMan.
