Hi I'm Leah

I am a wife and mother of one. I grew up in a military family. I love music and singing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 6 children in my family. Up until I was 9 I moved back and forth from coast to coast while my dad was in the United States Marine Corps. When I was in 4th grade we moved to Utah where we have been ever since. I have always enjoyed music. I play the piano and cello however, I have a special love for singing. I graduated high school at 17 years old and started school at a University where I studied music and got a degree in vocal performance. I took a short break from school to serve a mission for the church in Toronto, Canada. I loved teaching and serving the people there and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. A few months after I returned home from my mission, I met my best friend who I married less than a year later. We have now been married for nearly 3 years and I love it! He is my best friend and makes me laugh every day. We now have a baby girl who has brought such joy into our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often nicknamed Mormons) has been the greatest blessing in my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ provides pure joy and happiness in my life. Everyone has trials. I have seen pain in the lives of my loved ones. We cannot live this life without struggles. Our Heavenly Father knew that this life on earth would have it's hard times and that is why he has given us the Gospel. With the truth that we are taught in the church we can understand why bad things happen to good people. We understand that there is more than just life on this earth. We can see the bigger picture. Death is not the end. There is SO much happiness to be had and felt while we are here. The church has taught me that happiness is attainable no matter WHO you are and no matter what situations you are put in. Whenever I may feel discouraged I know that I have a Heavenly Father and a Savior Jesus Christ that care so much for me. I can turn to them in prayer and receive comfort through the Spirit as well as answers through the words of His Prophets in the scriptures. As a Mormon, my life isn't perfect, but I can be perfectly happy with the help of my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My faith is an extremely important part of my life. I'd say that it is the reason I am the person that I am today. In the church we are given names of some people in our congregation who we should visit. We check up on them occasionally and make sure they are doing well. I have 2 girls that I visit and they are such a delight. It just lifts my spirits to see them and help them out in any way that they need. In the church we talk a lot about serving one another. This is a way that we can help others' needs to be taken care of as well as keeping our own spirits lifted. Especially when we are struggling with trials in our own lives it helps to think of someone else and to do something kind for others.
