Hi I'm Chris

I grew up not as a Mormon, joined when I was 19. I'm a freelance court reporter, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

As a freelance court reporter I get to see and hear lots of different things. I know the difficulties of running your own business and making ends meet. If it weren't for the law of tithing, and the blessings it affords, I don't think I ever would have made it on my own. Growing up, I had a chance to live many places; Arizona, Norway, Lebanon, White Mountains of Arizona, New York, Scottsdale, and I graduated from a very small high school in Wellton, Arizona. My wife, Sandra, and I have six children, five boys and one beautiful daughter. We also enjoy 10 grandchildren, and are waiting for more. My hobbies are old Jaguars, (the cars), hunting with my boys, Sand Buggies, ATV's, snow skiing, water skiing, flying, airplanes, and an interest in anything mechanical.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a family that didn't go to church, I must have thought about God and Jesus Christ because I always had a vision in my head of what they would look like. When a friend explained what Protestants thought God was, it didn't fit with my thoughts and the picture in my brain. One night I went to the Mesa Arizona Temple to take pictures. I felt a special feeling I had never felt before. I thought that I should visit with the missionaries about that feeling. When they explained about Joseph's vision, and God and Jesus Christ being separate beings, that looked like us, it fit with my vision of what I had always believe God and Jesus should look like.

How I live my faith

Most of my time in church positions have been working with young men. I've been the young men's president in different wards four times, stake young men's president once, and various counselors in the young men's organization. I also enjoyed working with the youth while serving as a Bishop's counselor with three different bishops. I love Scout outings, and as you might think with five different boys, Pinewood derbies were special events in our lives. Currently I'm teaching a Sunday School class for the 16-year-olds and really enjoy it. I've learned more about the Book of Mormon, and really feel the truth of its words.
