Hi I'm Marianne

I grew up on a farm. I am a mom to five boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm that nested alongside a calm river. My grandpa taught me how to drive an old, but reliable, 1930s tractor before my legs were long enough to reach the clutch. I had to pull myself toward the steering wheel and hover in front of the contoured metal seat to have enough reach to push on the clutch or the break. I loved being Grandpa's helper, towing the long pipe trailer while he moved the pipeline that watered the fields. Later in life, I married an amazing man and moved from the farm to the city. I gave up driving a tractor, but I still enjoy living a life of dirt...on the hands, behind the ears, and on the cheeks of my five adorable sons.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel peace and joy as I live the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have direction in life and am confident as I answer my children's questions about where they came from, why they are here, and where they will go after this life. I am a Mormon because I know we have a living prophet who guides us, because the teachings make sense, and because it feels right. I am a Mormon because I love it!

How I live my faith

I love being a Mormon! It has molded who I am--a child of our Heavenly Father. My life is full--I sing hymns, lead the choir, teach the youth, perform random acts of kindness, plan an annual youth summer camp, conduct meetings, give talks, cook for potlucks, visit and teach women, play the piano, laugh with friends, plan activities, attend social gatherings, have high moral values, enjoy the companionship of the Holy Ghost, keep the commandments, attend and serve in the temple, read scriptures, pray daily, nurture my sons, love my family, and love and serve my older brother Jesus Christ.
