Hi I'm Mika

I find life good and exciting. Spending time with my family is one of my greatest joys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended two years at Snow College in Ephraim Utah and am working towards becoming a nurse. I have worked as a CNA for an Intermountain Medical Center hospital in Fillmore and I love it! It feels good to come home from work completely exhausted but knowing that you did something good for someone that day. I'm the oldest of 3 children. My family is amazing. I have one brother and one sister who were both adopted from a country called Kazakhstan. They are pretty special to me. I recently received a mission call to serve the Lord for 18 months in Rostov Russia which is right next to the border of Kazakhstan, where my siblings are from. It will be fun to learn their culture and language. The 2014 winter olympics will be held in Sochi Russia so I will be there and will be helping out with that. I am way excited! Missionary work is the best thing ever and brings so much fulfillment.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's true Church. It was restored through a humble farm boy who only sought to do God's will. I know this because I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to my Heavenly Father. He gave me the answer. As I read from the pages of that book, I know that it is the word of God. The Church that was on the earth at the time of Moses and other prophets is back on the earth again. President Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet on the earth today. I know that as we follow his teachings, we are following our Savior.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in seminary programs, where others my age come together to learn about Jesus Christ. In young womens I was able to organize some of our meetings and plan activities to invite the spirit and strengthen our testimonies. Girls' camp was one of my favorites! My college ward and institute were way fun and we were able to plan service projects to go about and help those in need. We also were able to go to the Temple often to perform baptisms for the dead. I love the Temple! I live my faith by applying the Atonement. I know that without our Savior, I am nothing and can do nothing. Because of Him, I can repent of my wrongs, overcome my weaknesses and be clean again. And someday I can return back to the presence of my Heavenly Father, a little better and a little stronger than I was when I left His presence. That's why we're here on earth; to learn, to grow, and to become like Him someday.
