Hi I'm Alissa Richter

I grew up on a hobby farm living life with bare feet on the green grass.

About Me

I love hearing testimonies of others. They are inspiring and encouraging. Each testimony is very different, but each on is more and more evident that God is still at work in so many lives. He is at work in mine as well, in ways I have never thought possible. People have always told me how God can change someone, but I could never see or feel the change often described. It didn't matter how hard I tried to find that closeness with Him, I never could. I committed myself to reading the Bible, praying, and going to church, but always felt empty, like I was missing something. I came to know the Mormon Faith through a close friend of mine. I had asked her questions about her faith, purely out of intrigue and curiosity. The more I learned the more I wanted what she had. It took me a long time thinking and praying about this before I had finally made the decision to join the church. At the point that I had talked to my friend about it, I still wasn't completely sure. I was diving in blindly in hopes to find what I've been looking for my whole life. I can say with all honesty, that I have found it! This journey into a faith that was once unfamiliar has been an exhilarating experience! The first few times meeting with the missionaries was hard, but as time went on I began to look forward to meeting them and learning as much as I could. With each lesson and with each new person I met, I became more and more comfortable and more at peace with this new direction I had taken..

Why I am a Mormon

I decided to become a Mormon because I have looked for a closeness with God my whole life and have always struggled to find it. I always felt like something was missing. In joining the Mormon church I have discovered so much peace and a closer relationship with God that I never dreamed possible.

How I live my faith

I am still new in the church so I'm still getting to know the people and what each of them do for the church. So for the time being I just study the scriptures and pray for individuals that come to mind. God can bring random people to your mind who are in need of prayer at that moment. I try to take the time to lift those people up in prayer.
