Hi I'm Dillon Hyde

I'm born and raised in Calgary. I recently got called to serve a mission in Fiji. I am leaving in January. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a youth, I often begrudgingly attended church. It wasn't until I was about 19 when it came to the point in my life of decided to head back to university, or to serve a mission. I prayed hard, read the scriptures, and personally gained a testimony of the truths of the church. As I was reading in the Book of Mormon, fasting as I was doing so, the answer came to me, clearer than water from a spring, that the church was true and that I was supposed to go on a mission. I went on my mission and served two years in Fiji. I decided thereon to dedicate my life to Jesus Christ, and haven't looked back since. It's been amazing. The people in Fiji, and the amazing opportunity to lose myself in service has changed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

As stated earlier, I grew up from goodly parents who raised me well in the Mormon church. Those who taught me in church, typically leaders in the church's young men's program and the clergy that were present, helped me to stay in the church. They led by such great example, and I became inspired to become like them. I desired to know why they were so happy, why they were so kind in an unkind world, and why they seemed like they had happy families. I live everyday trying to be better and better. I know I am far from perfect, but I'm thankful for this gospel, and Jesus Christ to help me every step of the way. I've learned so much more about my purpose in life, and I look forward everyday for a new opportunity. Life is great.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) has brought amazing blessings in my life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and a great life. I've been through a lot, sure...but who hasn't? I am so grateful to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life to lead me in the right path. Everyday is simply amazing.
