Hi I'm Jordon

I'm from Las Vegas or "Sin City" and yes I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada. I enjoy spending time with my friends and I like to just have fun and laugh. Laughing and joking around is what I do! I have a strong desire and passion for photography. I enjoy sports at times especially basketball. I am served a full-time mission in San Antonio, Texas. I devoted my life for two years to serving the Lord, and bringing the Gospel of Christ to others. I grew up in the church, but I like everyone else, had to become converted to the gospel. Through sincere prayer, the Lord testified to me that what I know is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe The Book of Mormon to be the word of God. I know with assurance that this church is the only true church on the earth, and that I can live with my father in heaven again if I strive to be like his son Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the center of everything in this life. Because of him I have so much to live for. It makes perfect sense that I would want to be a part of his original church that he established during his earthly ministry. That is why I am a member of the LDS church; because I know with a surety, that the priesthood, or authority to act in God's name, is a real power that Christ Himself held. And I know that we have a prophet on the earth today that directs this church, through that same sacred and divine priesthood authority given from God. True happiness doesn't lie within the frivolities of this earth life. Only through the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ can we attain true eternal joy. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I strive to do what is right and to become more like my Savior. Jesus Christ is the example and foundation upon which I build my life. He is the light by which I discern truth from error. I can testify that if every one of us looks to Christ as we make decisions in our life, we can have ultimate joy and satisfaction in a world with so much darkness and changing values. Nobody's perfect, and we all make mistakes, but Christ has helped me when I've had the toughest of times. It's so important to understand the eternal perspective. That has been the biggest motivation for me in my life. I know that you lose so much guidance and direction without Christ and church attendance in your life. By going to church, we open the door to receiving guidance and revelation. Without church, our testimony depletes, and we no longer receive the rejuvenation that is absolutely necessary for the week. As I serve the Lord, I see what people are like without the gospel in their life. I want that for others. I can testify that I know this church to be true and that the Lord is pleading with us to come unto Him. As we exercise our faith in Christ, and strive to be more like him, I can promise the purest of all love from our Heavenly Father.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Jordon
I personally have been tested on paying my tithing and i can't afford to not pay it. I know that the Lord has given us all things and he only asks for 10%. We owe it to the Lord to show our faithfulness in him. It is truly a witness of faith to the Lord. That's what I love about the principle of tithing. If we trust in him all things are taken care of. The money goes to the support and upraising of the church. That way the Lord's church can grow and flourish. I can testify and promise that by paying our tithing, the Lord will bless us so immensely, and in ways that we can't imagine. Show more Show less
