Hi I'm Elder Austin Watts

I grew up in Utah. I enjoy dancing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Austin Watts, and I was born in 1993. I live in Utah, and have been a member of the LDS church my whole life. My two hobbies are dancing and golfing. I've been golfing since I was about 8, and have been dancing for almost 4 years. I'm about to serve a mission, and then will go to college after that. I don't know what lies in store for me, but am ready for whatever comes my way.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member ever since I was born. My parents raised me in the church, and it has always been a big influence on me and my decisions. I don't just go to church because of my family and friends, but because I KNOW it is true. I have prayed about it, and have had incredible experiences that have testified to me that it is true. There is nothing to make me doubt that it's true. If you don't already know this, and if you are wondering about it, pray about it. The Lord will let you know if it's true.

How I live my faith

I am currently in Missionary Prep courses, and I try to fulfill my duty to teach the families that have been assigned to me so that I can be ready when the time comes to serve my mission. I attend church every Sunday and try to study my scriptures and pray daily.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Elder Austin Watts
A testimony to me is a person's faith that grows. When your testimony grows, your faith does as well. When someone says they have a "testimony" of something, it means that they believe and know something to be true. It usually comes as an experience to them. For example, I have a testimony of the Holy Ghost (a member of the Godhead who tells us (usually through though or feelings) what God wants to tell us) from experiences I've had. I had a friend who was going to commit suicide, and the Holy Ghost was able to warn me of this, and I was able to stop them from going through with it. I know that it was through God that I was able to save my friend, and I am so very grateful for the Holy Ghost and the blessings it brings. Show more Show less
