Hi I'm Verlie

I am a photographer, I'm learning how to play guitar. I I love the out doors and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm a Photographer, My husband built a studio in the shop at my house. I'm a Mom and a Grandmother. I've had 8 children and I have15 grandchildren. I live in the country and I love the outdoors. I like to snow ski and snowmobile in the winter and ride cross country biking and hike in the summer. I love kids and have worked in a school and scouting programs. I find I need to be around sweet children so I find ways to serve that include children.

Why I am a Mormon

My daughter at age 19 was diagnosed with a rare cancer on her lungs. It was a fast growing type which is actually easier to treat because it responses faster also. It was defiantly unsettling but we felt very sure that she could go through treatments and be completely cancer free. It was a hard and miserable 9 months of treatments. However on the 2nd to last treatment we had a terrible mishap. The hospital we used was about 4 hrs drive from where we lived so there was a home health care company that would come give us meds and take care of our needs when we were home. My daughter was in pain after this treatment so they sent a nurse out to hook her up to a pain med pump. It just so happened that the nurse mistakenly set the pump up wrong. She had it set to 6 times the dose by accident. This was in the evening and at about 2am I woke up and had this very strong feeling to go check on my daughter. We found her unconscious from an over dose. We called the paramedics and they came rushed her to the hospital. They revived her but in her weakened condition she was not able to survive. This was a horrible but life changing event in the lives of her family. There is no to get over an event like this without turning to God. I learned so many lessons. Through the events of this tragedy. It made a different person out of me. I learned that my Father in Heaven loves me and knew I was going to go through this. I felt his comfort and love like nothing I've ever felt before. I was so thankful for having had this sweet, amazing daughter even if it was for only 19 years. In our life I feel her help so very often. I know she is aware of me and helps our family with problems that come to our family. I love knowing that I will see her again. There is no psychologist as good as my, the spirit of the Lord. I know God lives and loves each of us. He hears our prayers and he gives us the strength and comfort we need. I have tested this out and know it to be true

How I live my faith

Currently I teach 7/8 year olds in primary. I love these little people. They are soooo happy and love life to the fullest. They are so pure and loving. I just love when I hear a sweet voice say. Hey, there Mrs... and say thats my primary teacher. I also have 3 wonderful families my husband and I Home Teach. We love to keep track of these 3 families and watch for ways we can serve them. I also have 3 ladies I Visit teach. I have gotten to know each from serving them and and so thankful for the opportunity to get to know each one. I love to visit each and watch for things I may be able to help them with.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Verlie
The number one thing mormon women are concerned with are the safety and happiness of their children. If that means they have to give up a career to stay home and take care of their children, they willingly make that choice all the time. Education is very important but nothing is more important that a Mothers children! There are lots of educational opportunities even for a stay at home mom. Many moms are able to have a Career and be home, it takes a lot of discipline for sure. Show more Show less
