Hi I'm E. Rachael

I am a Mormon and a Christian. I grew up in Sacramento California. I am a cancer survivor of over 25 years!

About Me

I am a Mother of 4 daughters, Step-mother to 1 daughter.and Grandmother to 14 grandchildren. I am married to my best friend Tim! I love our family! I love music, helping others and learning! I am a licensed Cosmetologist and worked in salons for approximately 5 years. The chemicals within that career made it necessary for a career change .Currently , I am going to college to obtain a Medical Assistant certificate where I can continue to help others, but in a different field. My hobbies are music (vocal and instrumental), sewing, art and just lately, weight training!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon today because of a sweet little boy who asked my brother to go with him to the children's meeting called "Primary". Our parents were happily surprised at the changes that occurred within our family after they allowed us all to go to Primary. The bad language stopped! The hitting and fighting stopped! My Mother and Father were so pleased that they wanted to find out more about this wonderful church and what was being taught. After going to church for awhile, my parents were convinced that it was time to have the missionaries over to learn more. Together we learned that we can talk with Our Heavenly Father through prayer anytime we have the need. We learned the He loves each one of us! We learned that the veil between us and Heaven is very thin and that God speaks to us through a living prophet in this day, just like Moses did in days of old. We learned that The Book of Mormon is a holy book of scripture and a companion to The Holy Bible to witnesses to the whole world that Jesus truly IS the Literal Son of God and that He died on the cross to pay the price for all of our sins. If we repent and come unto Christ with a full purpose of heart, we can be forgiven and we will be able to come home to heaven where we all were before as a connected heavenly family.

How I live my faith

I work in our church by teaching the wonderful 9 - 11 year old children. Through sewing with our women's group, I have been able to help in the Humanitarian service projects that make clothes and other items needed for disaster victims.I also try to make myself available to help in community groups. When we lived in Southern California I supervised and worked at several "Look Good, Feel Better" workshops for cancer patients through the American Cancer Association. Just this Summer I had the opportunity to be a teacher's assistant at the college that I attend and learned a lot about what a teacher in college has to do for each class.
