Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up on and around Naval Bases. I'm a pre-veterinary major, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm currently a missionary for my church. I'm still a senior at a university and will be until I return, but I have to say the break from those upper level science classes is nice. I am loving this opportunity to get to study the gospel and focus on helping others to understand it as well. When I go back home, I'll being going back to school to finish my Pre-Veterinary degree and then head to vet school! I'm a sister, both an older and a younger, and a best friend. When I'm at home, I'm an avid reader and an amateur writer! I currently miss some of my characters almost as much as I do my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but as I said earlier, I refuse to live off of the testimonies of my parents. I decided for myself that this is the whole gospel of Christ. I firmly believe a lesson taught by one of my leaders when I was in high school. They said that every person in Christ's church is a convert, because every one of us has to develop a testimony for ourselves. My parents set me on the right track when I was young, but my experiences through high school and college have kept me there. In the world I live in, I see so many other people my age wandering with no real direction. All through my life, people have asked me why I would be a member of a church that has so many restrictions. To me, they honestly aren't. They keep me from having regrets latter in life and make me happier now.

How I live my faith

When I was in high school, I was always active in the youth program at church. It was never a forced thing that my parents made me go because I loved the atmosphere. Even the scripture study course we had before school in the mornings was a fantastic place to learn about the only older brother I've ever had and the sacrifice made for me. I grew up in the church, but I have developed a testimony for myself. I may not have a cool conversion story, but I know the truth of this gospel to my core. In college, I truly enjoyed working with our young adults group. We were small, but we could feel the spirit so strongly and really enjoyed eachother! Now, on my mission, I am so excited about sharing the knowledge I have recieved and hope to help others to understand and come unto Christ as well.
