Hi I'm Davis

I am the son of a forever Mormon, and a convert. Additionally, i love linguistics; especially: Finnish. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Linguistics are my life hobby; my "secret vice" as Tolkien referred to the noble task of creating languages. Of this field, I favor syntax but also enjoy etymology, morphology, and social-linguistics. Of the spoken tongue, Finnish is my ideal of beauty in sound. Though I also enjoy the unique structure of Japanese. Additionally, I learn French, German, and Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

Contrary to common belief, I am not a Mormon because me parents are! Though it is true that they are; I have my own self-sustaining testimony to validate my beliefs. I have found no other joy comparable to the extent of which the church brings.

How I live my faith

First off, I love my congregation, we call it a ward! Though I have visited dozens of other LDS wards, I have lived in the same ward my whole life; and I can tell you with honesty that the church is the same everywhere; moreover and more importantly the gospel is likewise the same "then, now, and forever." In my ward, I assist the bishop (pastor) with young men priesthood duties. I am also a pianist. Both of these callings causes me stress -of course- but the awesomely good kind which only comes from the gospel.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The purpose of missionaries is to spread the gospel (the good news -as it is literally translated) to all, in order to enable to hear it and accept or reject it. The missionaries will talk about how the gospel of God will bring joy to one's life and the opportunities that come from the blessing of living it. In all, they truly want your life to be bettered and your eternal salvation to be great. Though it is your task to take the gospel and live it, no other person can bring you to Christ's salvation.
