Hi I'm Heidi

I grew up in Utah but have lived most of my married life in Kansas.

About Me

I am 48 years old, a mother of 5 children, 2 girls and 3 boys. I spend most of my days following them around in their various activities. They like to do a variety of activities such as band, choir, and all kinds of sports. I enjoy all of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I think whether you have grown up as a Mormon or have joined later in your life there comes a time that you have to decide if you really believe in the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mine came as I was serving a mission. My companion and I met a man that said he wanted to learn more about our church. We made an appointment to meet with him the next day. When we showed up to teach him, he did not want to learn about our church but rather wanted to teach us how wrong we were in believing our church. As I sat and listened to him and tried to get in a few words, a strong feeling came over me. I knew, more now than ever, that my Heavenly Father loved me and that I was, indeed, in His true church. I knew that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and had restored the true church on the earth. This man had every right to believe the way he wanted to believe but I knew I had felt the spirit and it had witnessed to me that the things I was trying to tell him were true. I am a mormon because of the spirit I felt that day and the spirit I have felt throughout my life.

How I live my faith

My favorite thing that I am doing right now is teaching seminary. Seminary is an early morning religion class to high school students. We start at 5:45 in the morning and go for about 50 minutes. We are studying the New Testament this year. The kids are sleepy that early in the morning but it always amazes me how eager they are to learn. It is neat to help start each of their school day with a prayer, spiritual thought and activities that help them learn more about our Savior's life. Alot of them play sports, so to they are "burning the candlestick at both ends". I love seeing their testimonies of their Savior Jesus Christ grow as they sacrifice so much.

What is faith?

Faith is not just believing, its believing enough that we are willing to change our lives. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I love the Bible. It contains the wonderful stories of Abraham, Moses, Joseph, David and Goliath, Daniel, and, most importantly, the birth and life of our Savior Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
