Hi I'm Blake

I grew up in Arkansas. I am serving as a representative of Jesus Christ in Las Vegas and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Im from rural Arkansas. My parents own a cattle farm and own a business. I grew up working both on the farm and in the business. I have 8 brothers and sisters (4 brothers and 4 sisters). I graduated high school at the age of 16 and was able to go to 2 years of college (doing general education) before I was called to serve a mission for the Church. I enjoy sports like racquetball, basketball, and paintball. I am currently serving my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church and I have been an active member all my life. I have been encouraged from an early age to search the scriptures, to pray, and to ask God if this is the true Gospel. I can't say that I've had everything revealed to me, but I can say that I KNOW that God lives and that he is our loving Heavenly Father. I know that he has a plan for us and he wants us to be happy. I know the scriptures including the Book of Mormon teach us the word of God and that through them we can be instructed on how to live our lives. I haven't received a single, powerful manifestation that the Church is true, but I have received several small expieriences that have built my faith. I have received answers to my prayers, even though some just told me that I would receive what I had asked for with time, little by little. That is enough for me. I know that I am here for a reason and that I have a work to do for my Savior. To serve and love others. I look forward to learning how to do that all the time and in every situation.

How I live my faith

One way i live my faith is by accepting and doing assignments that i have received, both in the church and in the community. I was the leader of my young mens class at church. I participated actively in a scouting program and was a Senior Patrol leader in my scout troop. Upon leaving the scouting program, I was asked to be an assisstant scout master in the troop I was in and I gladly accepted. I have also had the opportunity to serve with several other members of my Church to go and visit other members, to share a message with them, and to help them with any needs that they may have. Currently, I am serving as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This has been one of the greatest opportunities of my life to live what I believe, and to share that with others.
